How long have you been around?
Although this website was built in 2017, our parent company (White-Boucke Productions) has been around since 1989.
What kind of briefs do you list?
We currently list over 141,000 conflict-free briefs, phrases, irregular verbs, numbers and commonly used words.
Are most of your briefs one-stroke briefs?
Yes. More specifically, 96.6% of the briefs and phrases are one-stroke briefs, and around 3% of the medical briefs are two-stroke briefs.
Do you provide printed materials?

Do you have mobile apps?
Our cloud-based product services ("Briefs Encountered Pro", "Briefs Encountered Lite" and "Medically Briefed Web") are all accessible from a mobile smart phone or tablet, providing you can connect to the internet. White-Boucke does not charge for mobile/tablet use, but carrier access data charges may apply.
How can I be notified of updates and changes?
Easy: Just be sure to keep your email address current in your profile on our website! Whenever we have something new or important to share, we'll let you know via email. Don't worry, we won't spam you or sell your info.
Do your court reporting products only apply to a specific steno/realtime theory, and if so, which one?
Our products are compatible with many theories. The author originally learned "StenEd" but has adapted some aspects to make it "brief friendly" and phonetically logical for easy learning. In addition, you can tweak any brief to match your theory.
Are your dictionaries available on disk for my CAT program?
No. This is not possible for a number of reasons. Most importantly, in order to avoid the creation of conflicts, it is best to manually enter each steno outline into your CAT dictionary.
Where can I find out more about your writing conventions, character combinations, etc.?
Do you offer discounts to students, court reporting schools or agencies?
We can provide student discounts for quantity orders from a school or college, providing certain formalities and requirements are observed. We cannot provide discounts on low volume or individual sales, other than to court reporting schools and established trade retail organizations.
Can I print a copy of the "Briefs Encountered" or "Medically Briefed" dictionary?
No. The print function has been disabled for commercial and copyright protection reasons.
